Core Ethical Values
The Three Little Words We Should Use More to Build Successful Relationships
Open, Honest and Fair
I am a believer that the strength and success of any company is the people. All the people, buying you, working with you and selling you!
When your company has good core ethical values running through its veins it imprints a good reputational image of honesty, openess and fairness right in the heart of your clients and employees.
These three simple words, honest, open and fair, have amazing power and more impact than the usual overworded, (with over use of the words 'champions and excellence' )
corporate jargon and meaningless core values page only ever appearing on a website to get a tick in the box. (Too cynical?)
A company with a first class reputation is not only known to all including its competitors but its emotionally felt to be trustworthy by all including its competitors staff and customers!
Nothing appeals more to the people with integrity than knowing your company has the same values they hold personally and are so dear to them (and it's these people who are loyal and actually feel good about recommending you).
Good Ethical business practices reduce the risk to reputation which inevitably brings success in all areas whilst mitigating against financial risk and loss to boot!
Your company is only as good as its customers and staff it appeals to.
Adopting these simple core values mean you can actually use them as these tools were intended as they provide a simple platform that is easier for you to start to build on knowing that everyone understands the concept and instantly knows what this looks like in practice.
In addition, it sends out a clear message to staff regarding the standards the company expects them to deliver but also reassures them they can expect to be treated in the same open, honest and fair manner therefore installing loyalty and raising motivation! Introducing regular 360 degree top up top down reviews, as well as openly encouraging staff to offer suggestions for improvement (incentives if offer money saving ideas) are easy ways to get their buy in.
These three values can be the key you have been looking for into that niche area of high calibre clientele with whom you have now aligned with and connected on a personal level as likeminded decent types with whom you share the same values.
It is proven that a company with good ethical values at its core tends to attract a higher calibre of loyal employees and clients and is less likely to be a target of external and internal fraud, as well as lower levels of complaints ( your company mitigates the need to complain by you openly encouraging feedback on how to improve at every opportunity from the most honest, fair and invaluable marketing source available, your high quality clientele who willingly offer you their reliable insight on how to fine tune the customer experience as they are delighted to be asked and shows them you value their open, honest and fair feedback and willingness to change with them in mind.
Using the open, honest and fair strategy not only keeps it simple, mitigates risk, enhances reputation, attracts and retains a higher calibre of clientele and employees and bring greater success..... it also leaves you with free space on the website to showcase the abundance of quality testimonials from real customers (too cynical?) who are delighted you have chosen their feedback to make a difference and then taken the time to thank them publicly on your website. Your website they have now forwarded to all who they can think of with ease thanks to the share feature added!
