The Betrayal

Betrayed once again!

Like time and time before;

The one who claims to love me

had indeed betrayed me once more

An incident that at first, gave me no cause to doubt

He told me about it, gave his reasons as to why it had come about

'an altercation with a foe' who had once been to me a good friend

but no longer was for constant claims he saw right through my "lying, cheating" boyfriend!

My boyfriend, as had I, then received his constant abuse for which he adultly thought it best to never bite,

in time able to convince me to believe the friend was purely driven by spite!

So this spat my boyfriend declared was a long time coming with our foe,

the trouble he had caused us both was something he no longer could just let go!

"On seeing him, I just lost it and was seeing red"! He said

"I was driven in the main by the hurt he has caused you with all the lies he has spread"

My hero! My Knight in shining armour! Ah for him my gratitude did pour

and instant forgiveness for all those times he had never defended me before...
 But the warm feeling of a love secure sadly did not stay with me long; there would appear to be another version of the why for said goings on! 

 Clearly it was only I who was misinformed and wrong...

Yes he had told me some truth, he did galantly defend the honour of a lady... but the lady in question it so happens just was not me!
But until the bitter end he was in his default denial mode..

Claiming with insistence to trust in him and swearing the truth to me he has honestly told....
